In rememberance of Nick Utting MBE – 1949-2025
Nick Utting was for over 25 years the distinctive and highly regarded secretary of the Blamire Trust.
The Trust created in 1862, on the death of William Blamire of Dalston, over its 163 years of existence has had several distinguished secretaries but none more appropriate in these current times than Nick Utting.
He always, in his polite way, reminded Trustees of their roles and responsibilities and his thoughts and extensive advice on potential Medal candidates was most helpful and much appreciated. Nick was an outstanding communicator on agricultural and country matters and he put these skills to good use in furthering the aims and presence of the Trust. We have much to thank him for and his contribution at our meetings and the farming community at large will be greatly missed.
On behalf of all Trustees, I extend my sincere condolences to his wife Margaret and all his family.
